Tobramycin

Indications

Ursitan 3 mg/ml eye drops, solution in single-dose vials is indicated for the local treatment of the following infections caused by strains susceptible to tobramycin, in adults, adolescents and the pediatric population aged >1 year.

Purulent bacterial conjunctivitis
Corneal ulcers
Corneal abscesses
Keratitis

Presentation

Box of 20 single-doses vials.

Dosage

Corneal abscesses: Ursitan 3 mg/ml eye drops solution should be administered at the following intervals, including overnight: On day 1, apply two drops into the affected eye every 15 minutes for the first six hours, then two drops every 30 minutes for the remainder of the day. On day 2, apply two drops into the affected eye every hour. From day 3 to day 14, apply two drops into the affected eye every 4 hours. If the patient needs to be treated for more than 14 days, the dosing regimen is at the discretion of the doctor.

Purulent bacterial conjunctivitis, keratitis, corneal ulcers: Apply one or two drops into the affected eye(s) every 2 hours during the day for the first two days. Then apply one or two drops every 4 hours until the infection has resolved. The dosing regimen may be adapted at the discretion of the doctor.
